Cooperstown with Santa Monica Baseball Academy

SMBA  is taking a 12U Team to compete in the Cooperstown All-Star Village Invitational Tournament in Cooperstown, New York .  SMBA is excited about the opportunity to return to Cooperstown with our 12U Cooperstown team!  Below is more information on who is eligible to play, the cost and other details concerning the team.

Who is Eligible?

Current SMBA 12U players and invited  age 12 or under players are eligible to try out for the 12U Cooperstown team. The  12U try outs are being held in January ( weather permitting)  this season in order to allow the team more practice time in addition to raising funds and making travel/accommodation arrangements for the Cooperstown trip.

What is the Cost?

Cooperstown costs are determined by the tournament fee, insurance, SMBA coaching staff, accommodations, umpire fees, Pins, scrimmages, plus transportation.  A $1,295 deposit is required to reserve your spot.  12-Player Roster Balance: This Cooperstown Tournament fee includes two sets of Cooperstown uniforms, housing, food, entry fee, games The cost only covers the player. It does not include the player’s family. If the family wishes to accompany their children to Cooperstown the expenses for travel, accommodations, and other expenses are their responsibility.

Can we Fundraise for our Team?

 Not only does the player pay for their own Cooperstown entry fee, the  team is responsible for raising the remainder of the funds by conducting various fundraisers. At SMBA, we have raised enough money to cut cost by 50% during some summer campaigns! All players, coaches and parents are expected to participate in these fundraisers. Once the team is formed a fundraising strategy will be determined coaches and player parents. Last year we raised nearly half of our expenses!

 2024 Cooperstown Team: Birth dates from 5/1/2011 to 4/30/2012

2025 Cooperstown Team: Birth dates from 5/1/2012 to 4/30/2013

2026 Cooperstown Team: Birth dates from 5/1/2013 to 4/30/2014

2027 Cooperstown Team: Birth dates from 5/1/2014 to 4/30/2015

2028 Cooperstown Team: Birth dates from 5/1/2015 to 4/30/2016
