Congragulations Santa Monica 16U National Team!

Battling through two regions, the Santa Monica 16U National Team did the impossible and the improbable and made a place for themselves at the 2023 Colt World Series!

Santa Monica 16U National Team made it to the Colt World Series 2023!

Going where no Santa Monica Pony team has ever gone before, the Santa Monica 16U National Team teamed up with SMBA and made it to the 2023 Colt World Series!

Going undefeated through Super Regions and the The West Zone, the Santa Monica 16U National Team earned a berth to the 2023 Colt World Series!

It took a summer of baseball hard work, dedication and training to get to the Colt World Series! Congratulations to the SM Pony organization, the players, parents and the SMBA coaches and staff!

With teams from Japan, Germany, Texas, Illinois and more, it was an event with an international flavor where players met players from across the globe!

Former MLB player, drafted out of high school by San Diego  Padres. 

Former Major League pitcher Tim Leary, drafted 2nd overall, a UCLA All American and World Series Winner with our very own LA Dodgers! He is the current varsity pitching coach for Brentwood High School and his vast knowledge of the game is unparallel on the westside!

 Coach Josh Ravins is a former MLB pitcher for the LA Dodgers and Atlanta Braves. He is currently coaching at Brentwood high school.

 A former high school defensive player of the year, this outstanding catcher  took his talents to UC Irvine. He took his fifth year to Cal State LA where he had an outstanding 2023 season for the Golden Eagles and was one of the team’s best hitters. He earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Was third on the team with a .322 batting average and was tied for second in runs batted in with 38. Led the team in runs scored with 37 with home runs. Was second on the team in hits with 66 and second in triples with five. He joined the SMBA staff coaching camps in the off season and is now coaching the Santa Monica Pony 16U National Team as a member of the SMBA coaching staff! 

Coach Mason helped lead our SMBA 12U Club team to a Fall Wood bat league championship, a former collegiate player, he led his high school team to state and just passed the bar exam! He is solid as an oak and he brings a positive intensity to every practice and game!
